Inshore Fishing Trips in Saint Bernard, Louisiana

Our primary service is guided inshore fishing along the coastal marshes, bays, and estuaries of South Louisiana. These shallow waters are home to some of the most prized species in the Gulf region, including Speckled Trout, Redfish, and flounder.

Charters typically run from safe light through mid-afternoon, but flexible scheduling is available. All fishing gear, safety equipment, bait, and tackle are included. Trips are run on a TRITON 240LTS with updated navigation and electronics to locate fish and ensure comfort throughout the trip.

Multi-Boat Group Charters

Backwater Guide Service has access to more than fifteen boats, making it possible to book fishing charters for groups of nearly any size. Whether you are planning a bachelor party, company retreat, or family reunion, we can coordinate multi-boat trips that keep everyone together on the water.

Each boat is captained by an experienced, fully insured, U.S.C.G. licensed Captain and equipped with the same gear and safety standards. All boats depart and return together, and overnight lodging is available for multi-day groups.

  • Gear & Tackle

Our charters come fully equipped with rods, reels, bait, tackle, safety vests, and bottled water—everything you need to focus on fishing and enjoying your time on the water.

  • Professional Guidance

Your expert guide navigates you to honey-holes using knowledge of seasonal patterns, sonar, and structure. Coaching includes casting technique, lure presentation, and reading water conditions in real time.

  • Personalized Format

We tailor every trip—whether you’re getting steady bites in a half-day tour or strategizing trophy bass angles on a full day. Our custom approach ensures you learn and fish at your pace and preference.

  • Safety & Conservation

Guides are U.S. Coast Guard licensed and insured. We follow catch-and-release best practices, emphasizing ethical handling and sustainable angling.

Overnight Lodging and Fishing Packages

What sets Backwater Guide Service apart from many charter operations is the availability of onsite lodging at our private fishing camp. Located in close proximity to the launch, the camp allows clients to stay near the action without worrying about hotels or long travel times.

Lodging includes comfortable sleeping quarters, a full kitchen, restrooms, and outdoor relaxation space. It is ideal for clients who want a multi-day experience, and it helps maximize time on the water. Packages can be arranged to include one or more days of fishing combined with overnight stays at the camp.
